Just got offered a state government job. On my resume I didn’t lie about where I worked; just for how long I worked for past employers. I expanded one job by a few months and another by like 6 months. I was completely honest with the third one. Needless to say I put the correct dates into the background check form. The background will come back with the correct dates, but I just want to know if they will rescind the offer. Or maybe they will give me a chance to explain first? In which case I will say typos. If I tell them I lied there will be no trust. I have the experience needed for this job it’s just that I wasn’t getting responses to applications until I changed the duration of employment. Any advice?
