These places don’t care about the minimum 8 hours of sleep between shifts.

16-hour shifts. Coming home 30 minutes later leaves 7.5 hours. But then you have to subtract another hour to get up on time and not be late to work. So make that 6.5 hours of sleep. If you live an hour away, then you got to get up even earlier. So you got 6 hours of sleep. That's not accounting for shower time, breakfast, and reading the news. So you're getting 5 hours of sleep if you live 30 minutes away and 4.5 hours of sleep if you live an hour away.
