I just had a lovely realization. I work retail, and we have been running a Black Friday discount all weekend on supplies at our store. Not a huge discount, and not heavily advertised, but it’s brought people into the store.
Apparently, my boss changed the rules without mentioning to the associates, but all Black Friday sales are non-eligible for commission! And even more “surprising” my commission is equal (actually, a little less) than the discount we are giving! So in essence, my boss is actually making more money this weekend than usual, while I take a nice pay cut on all the sales I’ve had.
