Forced to work in a different office

Just a little rant/advice needed. I work for a somewhat large company who owns a bunch of subsidiary companies within that. I’ve been here for 3 years. Out of the blue I was told I would be working at another office location in a different department I know nothing about. This temporary change could last anywhere from 1-4 months. I’m basically at their mercy forced to commute 2x the distance I travel currently with no end in sight. They presented this information to me 2 days prior and played it off as a privilege, like I should be thankful they chose me for the job. I was unable to object or say no. Rather than hiring someone else to do it, they just shift employees around from slower departments temporarily to save money. I felt like if I had said no, I would lose my job, so of course I agreed like a dumbass. And now I’m stuck doing this bs until they say I can go back to my actual job
