I have been actively applying for mid-senior to senior level roles for approximately a month now. Historically, it has taken me about three months to secure a new position. However, in this current job search, I have encountered unexpected challenges. Despite consistently submitting 2 to 3 applications per day, I've been facing a higher rate of rejections or sudden removal of roles from consideration. Typically, by this point in my search, I would have interviews lined up, but the process feels more arduous this time.

Considering the circumstances, I am contemplating increasing my daily application target to 4 to 5. It seems that the job market may be more competitive than before. Has anyone else noticed a similar trend?

I am currently employed but am being selective in my search for a strategic career move. With 7 years of experience, holding both a bachelor's and a master's degree, I am diligently tailoring my resume for each application. Unfortunately, my current job lacks satisfactory cost-of-living adjustments, recently underwent layoffs, and my workload has substantially increased. A modest pay raise ranging from $.69 to $1.00 would not suffice.

For those who successfully made a strategic career jump, how long did it take for you to secure a new, better-paying role? I am seeking insights and advice from others who navigated similar situations.
