I work as a delivery driver at a fairly major pizza chain. I've been at this job for about 3 months now, and have been told multiple times how I'm the best driver they have had in a long time. I don't go above and beyond on any of my required tasks, but I do what I think to be a good job. I can count on one hand the number of mistakes I've made in 3 months. Today I came in to work and was told I'm being written up because I made a mistake which caused a couple of pounds of dough to be wasted overnight. First time I've made the mistake, and it's pretty minor, we're talking a couple pounds out of a couple hundred used daily, scraps.
Only posting because fuck these bullshit corporations, with this write up mentality. Better start their case against me. I refused to sign it.
I'm 35, only working this job because it's convenient with my wife's work schedule, we have a sick child so one of us had to quit our original careers to be at hospital a couple years ago when that started.
I just want a job where I can go in, do my thing, and go the fuck home. Getting tips to boost me into a halfway livable wage helps, but fuck signing a write up for an honest mistake that has no pattern of repeating.
