What are some justifiable reasons to not have to carry stuff up the stairs?

I manage the facility in a Los Angeles building. Our elevator has been down for three weeks. An upcoming event on the fifth floor requires moving chairs, tables, speakers, and a 65” TV screen from the basement, which involves about 17 trips per person. Due to the height of our ceilings it is an additional two flights to each floor. With nearly 100 steps to the top, I've expressed safety concerns for myself and my helper. I suggested they move the event outside but don’t think the event team wants to do that. Are there other safety reasons I can highlight for not hauling everything up the stairs?
