I got laid off yesterday, unexpectedly, and it actually is a huge relief because I will be able to collect unemployment. Fuck the shitty company I worked for because I hope they fail. But I am stoked that I will be getting some Federal Benefits (USA) for their decision.
No matter how much you hate your gig, try to tough it out and make them fire you. Don’t actively sabotage the place but don’t go out of your way or anything anymore for them. Force their hand. Because if you quit, you’re screwed out of the unemployment money.
