Sick of greedy companies

For context I work in a deadline driven line of work. I’m fine with that (and eventually want to escape corporate gigs to work with my own clients) but companies are often under hiring or keeping their teams as lean as possible to save money. My current job has become pretty terrible and is getting worse so I’m trying to leave. I had an interview last week and overall I think I crushed it but there were a few red flags: 1) my job involves sitting behind a computer all day everyday but while the job advertised a hybrid arrangement; the hiring manager said they actually come in 4 days a week for collaboration. I had an interview last week and overall I think I crushed it but there were a few red flags:

1) my job involves sitting behind a computer all day everyday but while the job advertised a hybrid arrangement; the hiring manager said they actually come in 4 days a week for collaboration. There was no mention of working at home during periods of extra deadlines (at my current office people talk so much that during those extra busy days we are allowed to be at home so we can buckle down and focus).

2) the company tripling in size since the past 10 years but them thinking it was a flex that head office staff had hardly increased, it was “possible because of technology!” Ahem, no, I’m sure you just abused your staff…

3) several days per month during deadlines there is an expectation to work from 8 am until 9 pm if that’s what it takes to get the job done. Boy was I sure glad I asked about that because I’m trying to get out of that at my current job (though it’s usually not even that late unless something goes seriously wrong…) and it is a salaried position so no idea if those overtime hours can be banked. This is something that can 1000% be avoided if the department wasn’t under staffed.

Anyways, as annoying as current job is this one doesn’t seem better… the hunt continues
