I work at a gas station Monday-Thursday. On Saturday I called and told my boss that my family had Covid. She said you can’t work for five days after being positive, so I’d be able to return Thursday as long as I didn’t have a fever. I had a pretty bad case of it so on Wednesday I told her I got it too, and that I can’t work tomorrow. She said ok, and at the end of our conversation I said “So I’ll see you Monday?” She said something along the lines of “As far as I know right now, yes.” Welp this morning I went in for work and she wasn’t there, her boss was covering for her as she was sick, I had just called her and she sounded pretty rough but didn’t tell me not to come in or anything. When I seen another employee training someone I knew something wasn’t right. I went into the office and her boss said “what are you doing here?” I said “I work today.” And this went on for a little while and basically he had no idea of what was going on as his boss made the schedule, and they said they heard I was sick. I was off the entire week on this schedule, and I have a set schedule that’s been the same for almost a year. I said so…. Who do I call? No answers, so basically I have no idea who or if anyone will call me and when I asked him if I was fired he couldn’t tell me for certain that I wasn’t he just didn’t know. He said after I asked that he’ll give his boss my number but no guarantee she’ll call me. So basically it sounds like I’m off the schedule and it’s been stolen from me. The girl that was working is family with my boss and has presumably been working my shifts. Something isn’t right with this at all, and it’s messed up that it basically sound like my boss is giving my days to her family member.
