I swear, companies are passing on actual qualified employees

First off, let me preface this by saying this post may be a little self aggrandizing however i think I’m well within my boundaries to be outraged at this point. I recently moved to a new city afew months ago and have been looking for employment ever since. In this time span I’ve had far more interviews than I did at my previous city, however with the volume of resumes and cover letters I’ve sent out, I feel like it should be way more. I’m at the point where again I will be looking for part time employment as opposed to a full time career because I’m simply not getting the calls back or even the time of day to interview.

And I’m absolutely baffled at how these companies can operate like This, I’m not saying that I’m just “entitled” to employment because I sent in a resume, but most of the listings I’m applying to have been roles that I am 110% qualified for, I also regularly have 5 plus years of experience in most of the fields I’m looking at, and graduated with a 4.0 gpa. I feel like these hiring managers are absolutely missing out on talent because if I’m not qualified for the position (that only pays around 50,000 a year might I add) then who the heck are they getting with similar experience that’s willing to work for that amount?!?!?

To be fair I am being slightly picky in the kinds of jobs I apply for, for reference I have a business degree focusing on marketing and I know for a fact I could probably get one of those cold call sales jobs, but to be honest I’ve been there done that and I’m never going back to that. If anyone is a hiring manager and wants to weigh in here and affirm how I’m feeling or tear me apart by all means please do.
