Antiwork

I’m astonished how the USA companies work and how every seems to put up with it.

Reading through antiwork post, I see load about obligatory OT, limited number of sick days and being fired for no reason. Just to put it into perspective, I'm in Europe. We have OT, however it's frowned upon if you go over 42hrs per week, though anything over 35pw is OT. Regarding sick days, WTF? If you off for 1week or 1 year, providing your doctor has signed you off, you get sick pay and you can't be fired. In France if you have a CDI position, you can't be fired even if you accidently set the manager on fire! I'll accept in the US I would be paid 5 to 7 times more, however we get 7 weeks holiday and free Healthcare. Who decided this system and why did everyone run with it?
