My SO’s wood-mill employers rescind everyone’s yearly bonus if anyone reports being injured on the job, company-wide

Essentially if they get injured on the job (bad enough to report it at least…) no one across any of their multiple woodworking facilities gets their expected yearly bonus. I've lost count the number of times he has come home hurt. He just deals with the pain and continues working, which is honestly a dangerous distraction at a certain point due to the chaos of their job, or if he needs to stay home, he has to lie about being sick. Or EVERYONE loses their bonuses. How is this legal?
