I work a zero hours job and they have previously kept adding shifts to my rota without communicating or asking me. I would just get a notification to say I have a shift. Although I'm happy to pick up more shifts, I think the common courtesy regardless if I'm casual or not should be to ask if I am available to work the shift. It kept happening so one day I decided to let the admin person know that I won't be able to work the shift and they said for me to make a call out to my colleagues to ask for cover. I doubled down and said that it was added a week after the inital roll out of schedule and I said my availability has changed since then and apologised for not being able to work it. They didn't reply so I had to ask for cover on my end, and luckily found cover. But in that email I asked them check with me in future to avoid a similar issue from occuring..
Fast forward the last few months I've noticed that I've been getting less shifts..and some of my direct colleagues seem to treat me differently by giving me the cold shoulder, I'm not too sure why…
I've also had shifts removed without any communication and when I ask about these, I also get ignored..when my other colleagues get good communication etc..
