One of my supervisors (I’ll call him John) at work is absolutely awful. We’ve lost half of our shift because of him, everyone has quit. Absolutely nobody I work with likes him. In fact, everyone despises him. He got hired on a few months after I started so I can see a serious decline in the work environment.
We have another supervisor (I’ll call him Brian) who’s always been very nice and reasonable. John tried to get Brian fired a month in. Luckily he only got a 2 day suspension. John has since tried to find new ways to get Brian fired, as well as trying to get several other employees in trouble/fired. He regularly sneaks around and asks questions hoping to get dirt on people. It’s genuinely weird and I don’t understand his motive.
John has now moved onto me. He asked me about my productivity being down, I told him I’ve been in a lot of pain (he should know this, I’ve told him before) so I’ve slowed down a bit so I can heal. I’ve used all of my sick days for this year because I’ve been in so much pain that I’ve had to go home early a lot. He told me I need to push myself more and I refused. I have moderate pain right now and I could easily stress myself into not being able to work at all.
I was then informed by someone else in management that he’s coming for me and he’s been questioning people trying to find out if I’m lying. I don’t want to reveal too much information, but there is visible, physical evidence of my condition. It is likely due to my job activities. I had an appointment scheduled with my doctor, but I had to cancel. Why? Mandatory overtime as punishment and no sick days.
I had to file an incident report (which I didn’t want to do) so I could hopefully keep my employment, now it’s a whole workman’s comp thing I didn’t want to deal with. I just want my injury to be recognized, I’m not really looking for compensation.
I was just curious if I could possibly build a case against him. I’m now dealing with unnecessary stress and it is completely his fault.
