Need to Vent – Dream job nightmare

finished my first week at my job today and i've never seen such unprofessionalism in a work place long story short i was on my lunch break came to the break room and as the new guy was sat checking my phone just minding my own buisness when i started hearing people making fun of the new team leader who's also started at the same time as me and we both come from customer service backgrounds both in senior roles i took this job personally as it was more of a step down from my high stress job which i was a team leader of and came to this buisness as it was something i was interested in doing working with vulnerable people etc what i heard at this desk was disgusting 3-4 colleagues all making fun of her weight and looks and being disrespectful i eventually had to stand…

finished my first week at my job today and i've never seen such unprofessionalism in a work place long story short i was on my lunch break came to the break room and as the new guy was sat checking my phone just minding my own buisness when i started hearing people making fun of the new team leader who's also started at the same time as me and we both come from customer service backgrounds both in senior roles i took this job personally as it was more of a step down from my high stress job which i was a team leader of and came to this buisness as it was something i was interested in doing working with vulnerable people etc what i heard at this desk was disgusting 3-4 colleagues all making fun of her weight and looks and being disrespectful i eventually had to stand up and leave togo the toilet because i was feeling really angry hearing this. I didn't confront at the time because one i didn't know what to say and im the new guy literally my 4th day in the office. When i finished my lunch break i went back to do some shadowing with one of these people who was participating but not actually saying much about just laughing with them. the afternoon was pretty quiet and so the office got very loud with everyone talking and the occasional call which really annoyed me as some of these 'colleagues' are extremely rude to customers baring in mind our customers are vulnerable adults/ elderly who some literally can not look after themselves they would show pictures to each other of customers living conditions and be like 'what a tramp' etc i understand that they're young average age of 19- 23 myself 29 doesn't excuse any of this feels like a pre school than a workplace. I guess i should've seen the red flags when in training the trainer and my team leader literally said they needed senior staff and wanted me to go for it which i said i would think about as with all the current staff are quite new themselves and not many have customer service backgrounds or manager/ leadership experience. with out a manager or team leader on the floor it was complete anarchy and this is in front of two new staff myself and the new eam leader.

4 days in and im already thinking about leaving. Not something i want to do because i genuinely like this job and what they do. It fucking hurts me to know that everyone in that company wants nothing but the best for their customers from surveyors, engineers, warehouse staff etc but then you go to customer service and it's like a detention in school with no teachers or adults.

Not sure what todo if im being honest, And if anyone read this i appreciate it.
