I accidentally walked in on all the managers at my job discussing us (the workers) after we had just finished an INSANELY busy event that so many of us were working our asses off to get done on time.
one manager in particular was upset over my coworker who left at their scheduled time. I work very closely with said coworker and they CONSTANTLY overwork them. Extremely nice person who can be a bit of a pushover and I know for a fact that during the weekend they were doing 10-14 hours to help finish setting up (understaffed ftw). I literally encouraged them to just run out the door the second their shift was over bc ALWAYS someone finds them and asks them to do something and then they’re just… stuck.
I know one of the managers is upset with me for the same reason. I always leave exactly when I’m scheduled to and very rarely I will come in earlier/stay later (if i havent had many hours and i want more money lmao)
Also heard one of them talk about one girl that decided to wait until her last 30 minutes of her shift to take her 30 minute (unpaid) break and that was apparently a huge issue to them?? I don’t get it man. we’re not doing any kind of life saving work, it’s not our problem that you refuse to hire more people so we’re properly staffed.
we successfully pulled off a huge event but clearly nothing will make them happy. I refuse to let some crappy minimum wage job stress me out
anyway my lil rant over, I’ve had a hell of a week and i’ll be so happy to finally get some sleep this weekend.
