Reading this book at work and got lectured

I work graveyard shift for a hotel so 90% of my time is spent in the back, no cameras, no customers. I read a lot at work and this just happened to be the one I was reading when the GM walked in. We've had polite conversations before about the books I read (she's not much of a reader). This one set her off though. I tried explaining that it's a fictional mystery/thriller, not an actual handbook on homicide, but she wouldn't have it. I don't usually take my books to the front desk, and I know better than to take this one especially up there because I don't want to give customers the wrong idea. I understand how at first glance it can be a bit misleading but even after explaining it, she spent 15 minutes of telling me I was being unprofessional for bringing a book like this…

I'm about to walk for other reasons but this just seems ridiculous and a little power-trippy.
