“discharged without just cause”

I was fired from my job last month in a very short Zoom meeting. My supervisor said I was not “improving” and was being let go. I never received any sort of explanation or anything in writing indicating the specific reason(s) for my dismissal. Today I received confirmation that I had been approved for unemployment benefits because my former employer stated I was “discharged without just cause”. What exactly does that mean?
