nothing i do is for me, it’s all for them

my job is boring as fuck and i have been wanting to leave for quite some time, but because the money is decent and i have to pay for school i have been reluctant to quit. recently the company i work for was handed over to a new ownership team, who have enacted mass layoffs. they held a meeting to introduce themselves and the first one immediately opened by talking about their home gym. another started going on about how he'd had to come out of early retirement to take on the role. my coworkers were worrying about employment visas, health insurance, dental insurance, how they're going to pay rent, and these monsters are so far removed from reality that they don't even have the decency to hide their wealth from the workers they're building on the backs of for even a thirty minute meeting. i'm tired of being disposable,…
