I thought of this the other day, I have been with a company for around 15 years, if I were to get back into the job market who would I put as my referees? You would not use your current employer as you don't want to tip your hand to let them know you are looking, but your past employers are so long ago that they may not even remember you?
Do companies still want/need referees nowadays?
Edit: Referee is the correct term.
A person willing to testify in writing about the character or ability of someone, especially an applicant for a job.
