LONG RANT.
Was hired at $18/hour last year in an administrative coordinating position for a healthcare company.
Took it because I was DESPERATE for a M-F “bank” hours job due to childcare.
Since being hired I have gone above and beyond to the point that, since our shitty operations manager was demoted to essentially the nursing case manager (let’s call her Sheena, since she’ll be mentioned later), I’ve been tasked with operations manager tasks (apparently actually hiring a new one for our location is out of the budget).
So, I’ve been doing payroll close outs, overtime and holiday billing, all service code billing, end of month reports, payroll adjustments, etc.
On TOP of that, I just got told (not asked) I will be “promoted”/moving to what is essentially the nursing case manager position, to take on half the case load of Sheena.
Sheena makes $21/hour. I still make $18/hour.
Figured cool, when the promotion takes place I will get that wage.
Nope. Annual eval today! Yay!
I ranked at 97%. “Excellent”. Exceeding. Asked to make more than $18/hour.
Nope. Got 3%. $.54 cents. FIFTY FOUR CENTS. “Anything more will need moved through the channels, but it’s very unlikely”. Told her to try anyways. Doubt anything will come of it.
But the cherry? Got told “I hope you stay on, because the CSC is one step below operations manager. Once we build the office up again, a that position opens, we want you to do it”. Come to find out, Sheena was told the same thing. “You’ve shown growth and determination, and you have done the position before, once that opens, we want you to do it”.
I’m just done. Already been looking for new work, but this was enough to have me determined. FUCK this place.
