2 years on the job, the only employee at the site and I’m responsible for everything. Doing 4-5 people’s jobs. So I asked for a raise and a better position in the company. He said okay, give me a couple weeks and we’ll increase your salary. Couple weeks have passed now.
He’s now on a 2 week trip to Puerto Rico. Now I understand that this trip was already planned out but man what horrible timing. I don’t want to be angry but I can’t help but be resentful. Like I can barely buy food to eat and my boss is taking a nice 2 week vacation.
It’s like a big fuck you. It took a lot for me to sit down and say this is what I want and need and I wasn’t heard.
Maybe it’s an overreaction but man, I am pissed.
update:
so I did get a “raise”. A whole $200 added to my monthly salary. $200 fucking dollars. 50 a week. 2400 a year. That’s such a big fuck you, here take this. I don’t think higher ups get it. The work ethic is about to match the salary.
