Recent tornado

Our area was recently hit with a tornado, leaving many without electric, internet, or without a home. I WFH, and our company sent a sympathy letter out. Instructed us to use our vacation time if we are unable to work, and if we don’t have time then we can apply for vacation donation. They are asking people to donate their vacation to us who cannot work. It’s either that or we don’t get paid at all. How is this even okay? Update: After complaints, they are offering us leave without pay, and they also sent a company text offering ppl overtime. LOL
