I’m submitting notice tomorrow

I've made a couple other posts which you can look at but the TL;DR is I work at at a university FT and recently finished my PhD there as well. Job had been promising me a high level role for years post-phd. The original offer was 25k less than other FT employees at that level. I asked for 5k more than my original offer, they came back and offered me 5k less than the original offer. They then smacked me in the face again by “generously” coming up 2k (which is still 3k less than the original offer.) They also denied my request to be fully remote in lieu of higher salary because it's imperative that I drive for 75 minutes to sit on zoom in my office twice a week. I got a job offer doing far less for the amount of my original offer. I won't have to…

I won't have to manage anyone, it's fully remote, I'll have an actual team to work with and resources instead of figuring everything out on my own. I had other jobs come up but they frankly felt like a lot more work and I'm so burned out I just want to coast for awhile. I could have made more money but I want my time and no commute. It feels pretty poetic to leave for the amount of money my university decided to negotiate down from.

I'm giving notice tomorrow. They'll have no one at my level after I was the only one responsible for this department for the better part of the last decade, no way to move my current boss (who has no idea what's going on) to her new role that they need for the grant, and no viable candidates for the director role. I'm going to do everything I can to take care of my direct reports (who have been there under a year) and nothing else.

ETA: since this has come up several times: I can use PTO during my notice period and it will be a great benefit to them if I do rather than forcing a payout. I'm a state employee paid off a federal grant, institutional funding, and other funding sources. None of those places want to see their money going to pay out PTO and will heavily ding a place that does that and some outright do not allow funding to be used for it. Paying out PTO has huge budget ramifications as well as political/funding. The pettiest thing I could do is force a payout. I am not and my PTO is safe.
