I heard my employer talking about me and I recorded it.

So I was supposed to get paid today. My employer tried to gaslight me and said that my first check is in the next two weeks. Mind you I have already worked a month in the hole. BUT he he tried to convince me I had a different start date. This was through email correspondence. I called him. He answered the phone unknowingly and I caught everything he said to his assistant. I'm not the only one that didn't get paid on payday. So my employer said he feels bad for not being able to pay THAT guy. But as for me he remarked. “Oh I'm not picking up for her. I don't want to talk to her. I don't care about her.” I was stunned. I had faith in this company. I referred clients, I've been a stellar worker met all of my deadlines by far. I recorded the…

I recorded the whole thing and don't know what I will do next. I KNOW I'm not quitting though. I think that's what he wants because I'm the highest paid. But I negotiated my salary fair and square. It just seems like employees HATE paying no matter how well you do the job and I have a master's degree.

UPDATE: Many have asked the question. Yes I'm in a single party consent state.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE

Sooooo I sent an email to the assistant 3 days ago that's supposed to handle payroll. I simply asked how many weeks should I expect on my paycheck since I will be SIX WEEKS in the hole. The assistant said they would look into it. I didn't get an answer. I sent another email explaining why I need to know what to expect on my paycheck and still no answer. I'm really on the fringes of filing a wage complaint with DOL. My thing is do they only plan on paying me for 2 weeks after I worked 6 weeks?? I'm thinking if I filed a complaint the DOL would ask the same question.
