I just left a VERY toxic work environment as a manager and moved to a new place as the assistant manager. I pride myself in being the (millennial manager). I tend to be super relaxed and try to have as much fun as possible as we all hate being there.
Anyway I got the bate and switch where I was told the pay and they docked it by 2 bucks when I signed it. It was hidden in small letters on the paper. (I was to exhausted after all the stress from the last job and didn't read it full). Our general manager and merchandise manager are lazy and talk shit about the minimum wage employees on almost a constant. And my main issue is I was told the training was on site in the interview and now I'm being told I need to wake up tomorrow morning at 4am to drive 1 and a half hours to another city for training for the rest of the week (again this was NOT what I was told when accepting the job) they will not be paying me for the drive either which is going to eat my last check just for the gas alone.
Add to all of this they told me the reason the last ASM left was to further his career and now I'm being told they have gone through 7 ASMs in 3 months (me being the 8th).
The interview was fantastic and I didn't see any red flags until I got in. Not even 2 days in and Im debating heavily to just not drive tomorrow and rely on my freelance and DoorDash until I can find something better.
Work culture sucks bro.
