Posting this from my alt account just in case.
I'm in Oregon and my employer is a smaller business. Close to 100 employees. I'm scheduled for X time for certain jobs but I'm not actually allowed to go to the job site and clock in for that time. I'm required to wait for a text/call before I can go over.
I'm not asked to work off the clock. I'm just not allowed to clock in, even though my schedule tells me I work at a set time.
I've reviewed the laws and I'm just not sure if it's legal or not. My states labor laws feel intentionally vague. It seems like it doesn't count as on-call and they may be exempt from the schedule change laws bc they are a small business. Ma and pops shouldn't be exempt.
At any rate it's fucking dumb and should be illegal to waste employees time like this. I don't want to make a fuss because not even making ends meet now.
Screw capitalism man
