I'm a commercial model signed to a known agency in my city and honestly it's been rough lately as I'm now starting to get “old” by industry standards. I started at 17 and now that I'm no longer a fresh face/have that “youthful look”, I feel like I'm getting passed over for contracts even though I meet sample size requirements, show up on time, work well on set, etc. I'm 5'10 and ~118 lbs and my booker is STILL pushing me to lose weight. I pretty much eat a stale low cal/lowfat vegetarian/pescetarian diet because gaining 10-15 pounds could easily mean my agency dropping me. Some of the girls around me are either pill poppers or anorexics in denial.
I get this this is the life cycle of many models, commercial, runway or what have you, but I'm so tired. Fuck this job.
