I got written up in my latest quarterly review. Is there even a point staying here?
Work a desk job in financial services. We get a informal review every quarter with one official end of year review.
The quarterly one usually is just a talk with your boss saying the usual thing like current progress what needs to improve on.
I've been with the firm for over two years and had a bunch of these which were pretty much 1v1 meetings. Nothing noteworthy.
This time they said my performance was faltering below the expected standards. Like not being attentive enough to details etc. They even wrote the problems this quarter on paper saying that these problems had to be addressed as soon as possible. There is no deadline or PIP form for me to sign.
This is really a first I got written up for just a quarter check. I feel really discouraged to work now. If they have to put it in writing, I feel they did it to justify dismissing me later or something. Having this stuff is never for your benefit.
I feel even if it wasn't a formal PIP per say I think I really am finished here. I wish the job market wasn't so awful at the moment. It's a pain staying here knowing the noose is tightening.
