Half vent post half genuine question.
I [22F] had to quit my job in November of last year. I decided at the time to take a break, as I was recovering from a surgery (partially why I quit, long story that’s irrelevant though, I will add however that I cannot be rehired there) and I think that was beneficial so I don’t regret it, I had savings that could carry me through a good while without a job. However, for the past 5-ish months, I’ve been applying to jobs like it’s a full time job. Just about anything I’ve applied to – and I’ve gotten a good 20 interviews, and then silence after the fact. Some of it I know can be chalked up to the fact I use a cane due to issues with my knee, there’s been lots of times a hiring process will go smoothly, then I’m met in person, and I can just tell. Oh, I’m not getting hired now. Overall though there’s been so many times where I was certain I’ve landed it, only to never be contacted back. I finally got a job, and then the company decided to close down its branch in my city and fired me and the other new hires which was a massive ball of suckage. I don’t know if I just suck at interviews or if others are hitting a brick wall?
I’ve exhausted all my possible resources and I’ve been selling things to pay bills, but there’s only so much I can sell, the random stuff I have listed now isn’t moving. I’m getting desperate and pretty soon I just won’t know what to do for money..
