Hello! This is a longer story, so going to try and keep it short. About a month ago, I reached out to my boss about some issues myself and follow coworkers were having regarding another coworker and asked to speak with her as a group. She refused, stating she didn't want to create a “groupthink” type of mentality and would meet with us during our reviews. (Even though, just the week before I have an email that my boss was encouraging peer pressure to get me into the office 5 days a week (hybrid schedule)) My review went fine, we talked about my work and then my issues with the coworker. My boss only had one comment about where should could see improvement, otherwise was happy with my work. She said she would like to meet as a group then to discuss everything once she met with everyone. Our group meeting is set for tomorrow afternoon. I found out today through payroll that I didn't get a raise this year, and I'm pretty sure it's connected to me bringing up issues. (I'm working on getting things in writing and if this is the case, I will report my boss for retaliation, I just need to look up the steps) My question is, how to do ask my boss what is the incentive to staying her long term if there is no guarantee of a bonus every year? They offer no benefits other than bottom tier health insurance. We get 10 PTO days with no opportunity to get more for staying with the company longer. We get no retirement/401k. I literally just get a paycheck every week. How do I ask my boss what the incentive is to stay in a professional way? I'm obviously updating my resume and going to start applying to jobs, but looking for some insight into these (hopefully) last few weeks.
