Antiwork

Work forced me to clock out while I was WFH, docked me a full sick day.

My job doesn't have an official wfh policy, but we were told one day a week and if “anything happens”. Well, something happened. My kid got a little sick and couldn't go back to daycare. He was fine, just daycare rules. So I ended up needing to wfh for 2 days that week. Monday was no problem. I didn't know that he'd need to stay home Tuesday too until the afternoon and I called my manager and told him around 2pm that I'd be wfh on Tuesday unless he calls me and let's me know otherwise. On Tuesday morning, I logged in. I get a call from him later saying that his manager was upset that I'm logged in and to log off. I was livid. And now I see that they put in a whole sick day for me that day, even though I technically worked for an hour…

I used to like working here, I was in the office every day during COVID. I never used to take sick days. Always got great reviews. And they couldn't accommodate me when I needed ONE extra day.

Anyway, can I somehow get that 1.5 sick hour back? NY state.
