I should be grateful to have a job

Yes I realize this, but I’m still hurt and frankly, a little pissed off. In 20 years I’ve had 3 toxic managers. I work in tech, big surprise there right ? The most recent manager is truly a lug. An MBA but knows nothing- especially of tech, people, grammar or even how to write a cohesive email or speak properly. When he hired me for this $20B company I was told I’d get certs and education reimbursed, but upon trying was told it has to be part of my day to day duties. There are no certs or education programs for a senior “help desk” role who also does sysadmin, networking and infosec duties you moron. Maybe that’s why they call it help desk but pile on whatever else is needed? Then after learning there are no certs of education programs for me, I apply for the mentorship program. Well…

Well guess what? He quietly denied my application, so it never even reached HR, for a free program that could help me. More and more this guy is toxic and despite being in another state, truly makes me nauseous when I have to speak with him.

It seems he wants everyone to stay where they’re at- except for his best friend he hired- that dude gets promotions, remote work, training etc.

The worst is I had a colleague who was scared to take time to address a medical issue that got worse and worse until unbearable and embarrassing at times to be at work with her condition. When asked for remote work ability, despite the fact that we support mostly remote staff, he denied it!

How I wish I could have a round with “managers” like this in the ring. What a joke
