pretty much the title. i work as a delivery driver in british columbia canada. there’s a law here which states that all employers must give employees who work 5 or more consecutive hours must get a 30 minute unpaid break. my job is very demanding work wise, i don’t ever really get an actual break, as if i were to take a break i would just be getting off 30 minutes later. every day i work my 8 hours, and because of the workload, im usually also working through those 30 minutes, and sometimes into overtime. i was wondering if i can either ask my employer to pay me for those 30 minutes, or just get it taken off my schedule so i can make overtime 30 minutes sooner each day. it just seems very unfair that im facing the consequences of having these 30 minutes on my time, but not actually ever get to take those 30 minutes to rest. i would much rather just get the money for the time i work
