I submitted a report to HR, but I've been in this position for about 5 months and retaliation is at the top of my concerns. This manager is always stressed and yelling in front of guests (customer service) and bringing her personal issues to work. Yes I'm new in this position but a sociologist and work in admin and non profit organizations. This is a very EASY job.
Today there was a common issue and she came to resolve it at a location, but made it bigger than necessary. She physically directed me to my computer while she was freaking out on the phone and then poked me like a fkn dog twice. I finally spoke up and said, “I do great with verbal corrections/ criticism, and you absolutely do not have the right to put hands on anyone.” She tried to justify it with the lack of space in the office, but I've trained in bars where things are hectic and we don't treat people like that. She constantly overreacts in front of customers and multiple coworkers have said, it's normal for her to act out when she's stressed.
Do you guys think I have anything to worry about, should i find a representative? I told her I respected her and that I deserve the same, that no other managers act the way she has in higher levels of stress. The issues were so minute, I'm baffled with her reaction. What would typically happen to someone for physical harrassment, those that work in hr?
