How would y’all value additional work?

We have an individual unexpectedly leaving our organization at the end of next week who is leaving behind a few projects that need to be handed over to someone. We had a few other planned departures recently whose replacements are still gaining their feet and our management team in general is pretty swamped with these transitions. This manager leaving is a bit of a blindside to management as the departing employee was a large part of the training for the new hires. These projects are out of my pay-grade, categorically not the scope of my position, and would be super easy to see through to completion. Management is hoping I will take on these projects so that they can focus on getting the new hire's up to speed, and know that I will not do so for free. These projects are out of my pay-grade, categorically not the scope of my position, and would be super easy to see through to completion. Management is hoping I will take on these projects so that they can focus on getting the new hire's up to speed, and know that I will not do so for free. They have come to me and asked if I am willing to, and how I would like to be compensated if so. I don't know how to value it; it will all be while I am on the clock making my normal wage. One suggestion is maybe i get time and a half or double time for hours logged on those projects. Specifically, my manager and skip-level who presented this said that they want compensation clear and approved by corporate before I start on them.

Does anyone have any ideas on how i might value this work?
