I work in the delivery industry. Today was an especially trying day. Basically things at work were going very bad, I had a mental breakdown, and pressed on. Later in the day I called my boss to express my concerns about things that could be changed for the better and to my dismay, they suggested that I should quit. What? I’m trying to resolve things for the betterment of the company and my fellow employees. And that’s their solution? This rattled my mind for quite some time as I continued to push through the day. I was at one of my stops and the manager asked what was wrong. I was vague about it, just saying that I had a disagreement with my boss about work issues and they said that I do way more work and better than any other delivery person they’ve had in years. I thanked them for the kind words and it completely changed my day. I can’t believe I let a boss sow the seeds of doubt in my mind for even a millisecond. I know I do a great job and it makes a difference to the people I deliver to and that’s all that matters to me. Keep your head up and keep fighting the good fight!
