Goodwill in work leads to forgiveness

Hi everyone! Thought I'd talk about something that went wrong and how when a business treats their employees with respect, humanity and care, alot of the time, employees are more than happy to work things through rather than have to fight and stop the company playing games with them. I recently started a new job at a pet store, and the company is just amazing. Full transparency, incredibly kind, humble managers and regionals. Never pressured to overwork, have incredible training (for once) and the working environment is calm and nice. Recently, there was an issue with getting my pay to me at the end of the month because of a miscommunication between managers about sending some documents off.

So I won't be paid this month, it'll be the following month.

I get an email today from my manager, apologising and telling me she really cares. If I cannot get through this month or I really need the money, she would try and set up some emergency payment or something like that. Kindness, respect and apologies.

If this was my last job, I would've told them absolutely not, and gone to higher ups, because they treated me like crap.

Knowing that this is an honest mistake, that my manager is so sorry and was even willing to help me get some emergency funds, talk to whoever I needed, it makes me feel valued.

They have told me they'll be adding a bonus to my next pay also to make up for the error. (£500+).

Just shows that when you treat people with respect and dignity, employees actually care.
