I Actually Like My Job And I’m Still Unhappy

My pay is decent for my area. My boss is incredibly chill and I get on with my coworkers. The benefits are good. The work itself I honestly don't mind (I do sample disposal and minor maintenance at a lab). But I still dread going in- commuting is soul sucking, and my brain always crashes after about 6 hours and then I'm left dragging myself by my fingernails through the last 2-3 hours of the day. I'm also nocturnal by nature and working day shift is killing me. Around me, the only night shift positions are food service (major respect to everyone who works food service but I would simply die), or nursing. I wish shifts were shorter and there was more flex in the workday to accomodate those of us with different circadian rhythms- the fact that the world is ruled by morning people is the bane of my…
