I have a friend that manages a National chain store. This friend came down with a fever yesterday and was pretty sick yet stuck it out at work for all 10 hours. They went home and crashed without eating or drinking anything. Their spouse knew this was unusual so they had them take a rapid covid test and it ended up being positive. Sick friend immediately texted their district manager to let them know the deal and ask what the protocol is in this type of situation because they're fairly new to the company and they knew no one was going to be on today that could substitute for them. This DM has been ignoring this person ever since.
So they go to work this morning and it's pouring rain and pretty chilly for this time of year. A giant flatbed pulls up first thing and it's loaded with all this heavy product that needs to be unloaded immediately by fork truck. This manager is one of the only people on shift today besides the cashier, so it's going to be up to them to unload all of this mostly heavy metal product in the cold rain. They still keep trying to call and text the DM because they're practically hallucinating at this point due to the fever they have but all they keep getting is crickets. This person is in their mid-40s and female if it matters in any way.
Came here to get some some perspective on what others would do if faced with this type of situation?
