I put in my notice at my current job today because I’m starting a new position soon and my manager said to me “I said this to BLANK when he left, but I was lying, but if you need a recommendation in the future l can give you one”
A few things,
- Now am I supposed to believe you are now telling me true truth?
- That former colleague of mine is a long term friend, I’m of course going to tell him because what if he’s actually been putting him down as a reference?
- Why bring someone else up when I’m quitting? It felt odd.
- What the f*ck? Why lie? Why not just say “I can’t give you a good recommendation so you should ask someone else” WTH?!
