So I work for a “security” company out of Wisconsin, and we get contracted to events of all types all over the US.
I had the opportunity to work an NFL game, but had to travel to Canton Ohio. I rode in a 14 passenger van for what was supposed to be a 9 Hr drive, but because of who was driving it took around 12 hours both ways. We also were not paid for this. Edit: Usually they only pay the people who drive themselves.
The game got called cause of rain, so we worked maybe 4 hours?
We usually get an extra $2-$3 an hour for out of state trips, but not this time. We got a $40 Per Diem. Which I think was only given on the first day. So that works out to about… $19 per hour.
Told my friend about this, he says this seems criminal, and I should post here for advice. Other than get another job, believe me, I would if I could.
