I am simply expressing my frustration with my employer, despite the company's professed values of being a family-oriented organization. I am seeking to work remotely to support my pregnant girlfriend in order to support and physically be present for my family's needs, feeling unsupported by my boss who rejects my request. Despite being a top performer, the boss shows reluctance to accommodate a remote working arrangement. I know they will be required by law if I have to wait until he is born then by taking FMLA leave my job is protected for 12 weeks of time off to care for my newborn. I’m curious and seek advice on potential solutions, such as escalating the issue to higher management which I have already gone to HR who told me it’s up to my boss but he did not see anything upon looking at my work numbers as to why I would not be able to work remote or at least be given the opportunity to prove I could. I don’t want to quit bc that leads to financial instability I need financial stability for my family now more than ever! considering quitting I have even highlighted my commitment to the company's success and seek guidance on navigating the situation to balance work and family responsibilities effectively.
