I work for a company in a mall, next week they are implementing a dress code, which of its self is not the problem. My issue with it is their reasoning.
The dress code itself is black chinos or cargos and a black top (mind you we work with plushies and plushies only so black isn't the most logical move..talk about a lint nightmare) when they used to allow what ever as long as it was free of holes and not offensive.
Their reasoning is that they claim malls are requiring in their leases that store employees will not be allowed to wear jeans. Which of its self isn't something that makes sense when you think of other mall stores like hot topic, guess, lucky brand, buckle, American eagle, etc. which are staple mall stores and most of which only sell jeans and usually require their employees to wear what they sell.
I'm wondering if anyone else has some insight on this, if anyone knows why malls are starting to do this (or if I'm being lied to). Because it's genuinely making no sense and I have to buy a bunch of clothes I don't have the money to spend on.
