Mid December I just couldn't take it and left my job. Crushing it on new job. Project management in construction for a trade. Bringing in jobs with high profit. New company is very happy with me. Old company going out of business, I knew they would as owner was older and I was keeping it together. 13 years I gave to that company conservatively guessing I added 5 million to that guys wealth. He always cried poor. Now that things fell apart learning some things about him, from field tradesmen that knew him for 25 plus years. He is worth 6 times what I thought he was worth, he owns 70 rental properties in an upscale suburb of Chicago, i was thinking 10. Has a boat in Florida so large that he can't drive and has to hire a crew. Shouldn't bother me but it does. I have always worked for family type businesses, I didn't mind being part of their success, because they treated me with respect. This guy would scream at guys because they didn't put a roll of masking tape on an extra ticket. At least I am out of there and away from the verbal/mental abuse. I just can't understand why he was never happy or never got an atta boy and small bonus.
