I work for a temp agency that places paraprofessionals in alternative schools. I was told all summer that I was signed up to be at the school I was working at during the year. I started late in the year like late April-early may ish. They offered me part time instead of full time during the summer session because the spots filled up and less kids are enrolled. I declined as transportation negates the salary of being part time. But as per the agency I was guaranteed a spot in the fall.
Literally TWO days before the school year starts, the agency called me saying that the school emailed them saying that they didn’t want me back because I complained about being in the highly behavioral classes and that didn’t have enough less behavioral classes. THEY LITERALLY JUST MADE A FALSE UNDOCUMENTED CLAIM ABOUT ME.
I was always happy with whatever class they put me in. The first classroom placement I was in was known to be one of the top 3 most behavioral classes in the school. I NEVER ONCE complained about being in the class. The head teacher liked me as well as the other paras. They were saddened to see me placed in another room because another room needed more staff. I was never was spoken to about complaining or did I ever complain to anyone about my classroom placement. I tried to think if I said something or did something that came off like that honestly I can’t think of anything.
Sure I wasn’t perfect since this was my first time
working in that particular setting but I did nothing to deserve this. I’m just confused bc they literally wanted me back in summer. Nothing has transpired since. Since they pulled me 2 days before the start date. The agency is struggling to find me placement at another school. So now I’m out of work for something I never did and the schools negligence to inform the agency ahead of time. They had TWO months to make this decision about me. My mom is director of hr at a company and is absolutely disgusted by this.
