What’s the cringiest and most bullshit thing you’ve ever heard at work?

I'll start. I'm gonna say the classic line (which I'm sure you've likely encountered at least once in your career) but to this day it remains the cringiest line ever in my career. “We're like a family here.” Happened at my first job when I was working part-time during my student years. Bruh you all aint my 'family'. It was a minimum-wage job, lots of students joined for summer terms and resigned before school starts. I don't even remember some of yall's names when I was there. I didn't even have any of yall's phone numbers, let alone texting you like I texted my family. I love my mom and dad and siblings, they're my real family. You were all my coworkers, not family, sigh. Please stop saying that I was part of your “family” because it was not — I was there for the money (and work experience ofc)…

Bruh you all aint my 'family'. It was a minimum-wage job, lots of students joined for summer terms and resigned before school starts. I don't even remember some of yall's names when I was there. You were all my coworkers, not family, sigh. Please stop saying that I was part of your “family” because it was not — I was there for the money (and work experience ofc) and surely most of yall were too. If I had gone missing or dead the next day I doubt most of you would even care or be seriously on the lookout for me. Maybe my manager would but 99% wouldn't even care.

Thankfully I haven't encountered this line at my subsequent jobs. Super grateful that I'm currently working at a different job with great people and brilliant minds, without the “we're like family” bullshit.
