Not your kids? Not your problem.

My partner and I have been together for three years and known each other for four. Their kids are six and seven, so I've known them literally most of their lives. Their other parent was killed in an accident earlier this summer. When I left early from work they didn't have a massive problem. It only took my partner two hours to get a hold of my because I wasn't allowed to answer my phone while my boss was around. I was permitted to take two days off. When I got back I got a speech of how it wasn't my problem and I needed to pull up my “big girl pants” and leave what happened at home at home because they weren't my kids
