Long story short my boss owes 6 weeks of work. He said he could pay half today and the rest when he has more money.
I asked about what the extra funding would look like and when it would arrive. To both questions he made it clear it was not certain more would arrive or that there was a plan.
So in my head it was get 50% of my invoice today and MAYBE(leaning more towards unlikely) get payed the remaining half in good faith at a later date.
Or settle it in court.
I have already gotten a few quotes from lawyers.
One offered 40% contingency, which would be 10% more than what my boss offered (in case he doesn’t pay out the other remaining half).
I have a meeting with another lawyer this Monday and will find out their contingency fee. Or if this lawyer sees a different strategy.
What are peoples experiences? Anything similar?
